the physical and spiritual importance of fascia

Fascia, composed of collagen fibers, elastin, and other proteins is what is known as the connective tissue that surrounds and penetrates muscles, organs, nerves, and other structures in the human body. It forms a continuous web matrix that provides support, protection, and structural integrity. It also plays a critical role in movement, flexibility, and the transfer of energy through movement responding to internal and external stimulus thus influencing our overall well being…full body awareness.

From a spiritual viewpoint, fascia is seen as more than just physical tissue and is known to have energetic and vibrational properties. In modalities such as energy healing, somatic therapy, and yoga practices, fascia is known to facilitate the flow of life force energy (also known as chi, prana, or vital energy). Because fascia connects EVERYTHING in the body, it helps facilitate the movement of energy through the body’s meridians or energy channels.

An incredible memory bank: Fascia can store emotional and physical trauma based memories. Releasing tension or restrictions in the fascia during bodywork (like myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, or deep tissue massage) leads to emotional and/or energetic releases, which connects to the body’s emotional and spiritual dimensions.

The great communicator: Fascia integrates physical, emotional, and energetic information across the body. Described as a “superconductor” that links different systems of the body, changes in the fascia has a much broader effect on a person’s overall and complete well-being, not just on the physical system. It is the most important communication system in the body and it is multidimensional with means that it interacts with the crystalline network. When functioning properly, the fascia can actually create plasmic light which helps catalyze the ascension process but when its blocked due to dehydration, traumas, chronic stress, etc, the body can’t communicate properly which can lead to all sorts of malfunctions. The number one thing is making sure it’s well hydrated and MINERALIZED so that the energy can flow not only in the physical body but multi dimensionally as well.

Bridging the dimensions: Fascia is described as a bridge between the physical body and higher dimensions which means that it helps mediate between the physical body and subtle energy fields thus allowing for a multidimensional experience.

  • Physical Dimension: Fascia organizes and supports the structural integrity of the body.

  • Emotional Dimension: Through its ability to store tension and trauma, fascia is seen as a key player in emotional processing.

  • Energetic Dimension: Fascia is a conduit or channel energy throughout the body, maintaining energetic balance.

  • Spiritual Dimension: Working with fascia can help align the body with higher spiritual frequencies or enable a deeper connection to one’s higher self.
